The YOUNG BLOOD is NOT READY to RISE just yet, now stop being silly and giving Homestuck reference commands!!
So, I am fully aware this site has been dead for a while BUT WE'D LIKE TO FIX THAT! But before we can go about that, I just want to ask you guys some questions about how to do it:
- Do you want to keep the same site? I know Proboards has sucked some major balls. Do you guys think we should find something better? Re-setting up would take some time, but if the site is less glitchy, easier to use, and has more features, in the long run we might be better off? I'll be testing things out. If there are any specific complaints about Proboards you have that you want to make sure a new forum service would DEFINITELY NOT HAVE then please tell me them so I can keep it in mind! UNLESS YOU WANT TO KEEP PROBOARDS, IN WHICH CASE, THAT'S FINE TOO
- Do you want to keep the same plot? Do you want to start off where we left off? Do you want to start over with the same characters/setting and then go somewhere else with the plot? Do you want to do something entirely different entirely? SOMEWHERE INBETWEEN? SHOULD WE ALL JUST ROLEPLAY HOUSE CATS FOREVER? I'm really open on this - I love where we are but starting over usually drills up excitement that makes jump-starting and such easier.
REALLY I'M UP FOR ANYTHING YOU GUYS WANT TO DO I just want this to come back to life C:

We should take it and then declare free-for-all freeform RP time. Do whatever the hell you want to long as it's fun, and we'll just roll with it. Magic, monsters, time travel, killer robots, green monkeys, whatever. If there isn't many restrictions maybe more people will want to come back. On the other hand, that could just backfire and make it so that no one wants to be here because there isn't any guidance. Take a vote. I'm indifferent.

I was really enjoying the plot. But if everyone wants to change it, I imagine the new one will be just as good.

The idea of YB + magic stuff gave me an idea. Usually free-for-all stuff with magical elements is really crazy because of CONTRADICTIONS EVERYWHERE... but me and Sage have a universe that's based around a crazy city that has some magical vibes that avoids those pitfalls due to literal reality breakage and such. It's definitely more quirky than YB, but it could be quite fun I think if you guys are interested? It involves time travel pretty extensively as well. Time travel is always a plus in my book.
Also, I am very determined to get us an external and more private chat for reopening. This may or may not be on IRC. (If it is, it ~will~ be accessible from a web client!)

There is also the suggestion of doing 20s!youngblood, courtesy of Stove. Which is a very good suggestion. Very very good suggestion that I am absolutely smitten with.

YOUNG BLOOD: BOOZE, BOOBS AND BULLETS Plethora Springs, a small, sleepy town on the coast of New Jersey, receives new life after the prohibition of alochol: a new breed of criminal rears its ugly head and ultimately flexes its muscles, turning the town into a boomtown of booze, debauchery and sin. And underneath it all, an unseen struggle for power, and the fate of the United States.FACTIONS:*Prohibitionists -Bureau of Prohibition - Federal officers charged with enforcing the Volstead Act -Feminists - A group who had a major role in outlawing alcohol -Ku Klux Klan - racist white supremacists who believed in the superiority of the white race (White, Anglo Saxon, Protestant, or WASP)*Bootleggers -Suppliers - This category would require some discussion among the group. Mainly, whether or not we want to incorporate famous outlaws like Al Capone and Tom Dennison, or create our own criminal organizations. -Producers - manufacturers of illegal alochol -Shippers - smugglers of alcohol -Speakeasies - underground bars *Politicians -Idealists - clean politicians, for prohibition -Schemers - dirty politicians looking to make a quick buck CULTURAL REFERENCE - www.1920-30.com/ - kclibrary.lonestar.edu/decade20.html So? What think you?

Or, what if we moved Plethora to the cusp of the future? Just on the edge of sci-fi. Our characters could be inventors, enforcers, criminals, warmongers, businessmen, anything like that. The city could have automatons that started shitty but are slowly getting better, other strange mechanical monsters built by those who would exploit the future towards their own ends, Enforcers roaming, up in arms and armor, ready to beat down any unruly citizen. A corrupt government with a strange alliance with an unknown power which feeds it, giving it the might to rule with an iron fist. There is a rebellion in its infancy, a rabble of people who resent the mysterious disappearances and are willing to FIGHT THE FUTURE! by destroying the Enforcer's mechs and building their own, but they are horribly outnumbered and outgunned. The government's mystery allies are providing the means for them to own the world, and it is the technology given from them that is pulling Humanity into the future. Expensive flying cars are a reality, and so are luxury cruises into space, but all at the cost of freedom. The government is evil, but progressive, marching steadily into the future. To fight for a life free from oppression is to FIGHT THE FUTURE! itself.
However, this might be a huge enough idea and subject change to merit a new site. Possibly one entitled FIGHT THE FUTURE!. Otherwise, we just kill off a bunch of people and have some weird shit go down and have characters be kidnapped, others integrated into a suddenly growing government and Enforcer faction. We could Not even declare the source of the government's power; just have some weird sky-is-burning shit happen and the government swoop in to save the day. They build a huge complex around the source of the sky-fire and set up shop. All of (undeclared continent) would soon be under the control of a government known only as The Government, and every citizen would live in fear of the Enforcers.
I think it sounds fun. Your take?

I like the 20s idea, but I'm worried it would take a lot of research. But it might be awesome enough to try anyway.

I shall meekly propose an idea: In the not so distant past a group of "colonists" escaped from Earth on a huge space hub called Malgra. This hulking piece of metal that would become the huge megalopolis it is known as today housed what was left of the human race as they watched Earth explode.
It is now a couple of generations in the future and the society upon Malgra has expanded and grown used to their surroundings. Smaller colonies have been created and now dock onto Malgra in order to get supplies. People move from colony to colony (or live on Malgra) itself, more or less content with their situation. Aliens have joined into the mix as well. Some look human, others do not. Those that do not tend to receive more harassment than those that do. Nevertheless, they have started to integrate with the humans and their living situation.
Other than living in the middle of nowhere, space, things are fairly close to normal. In these shambles of society, who will you be and what will you do? The original idea? Earth exploded and humankind had to restart. The first chapter would involve humans figuring out their relationships with alien races that were allowing humans to know of them. Some would help, others... Not so much. Life was still a little awkward, but the memory of Earth was, indeed, fading away and life on the hulking space hub was growing normal. Sure there was no weather but a simulated sun and there were no trees or grass or wind, but that was okay. There is one large government that rules over Malgra herself, and then smaller governments that reside over smaller space stations that occasionally dock at Malgra for supplies and whatnot but are otherwise like their own countries. The original idea was to let admins and loyal, active players create and control their own colonies and, thus, there would be storylines on each colony that would interweave into the overall story with Malgra. It allowed for the ability to do whatever was really wanted while keeping a central hub for it all as well. Players could also propose alien race ideas, allowing for a mixture away from just the normal human thing. I'm not proposing we use this exactly, but I think a setup like this combined with the threading from Young Blood would give us a new start as well as the ability to extend into many other story arcs we would not otherwise go to. I have an invisionfree board that was going to become Malgra if you'd want to migrate - I'd allow you guys the ability to change it up should you wanted if you wished to go this route.
