EXPLAINATION
The event system here is pretty simple - we have occasional events that serve as basic thread starters and settings. They can be anything from "back to school" to "economy dip" and beyond. Furthermore, users can hold more specific events that may not effect as many characters.
If you don't like an event, you are free to not partake in it as long as you're not stupid about it. After an event is finished, it is considered canon and cannot be ignored except in the AU board.

EVENTS
Everything's just wonderful! - Plethora has just been named Best New City of the Year by CITII Magazine! Suddenly, everyone wants to visit or live here. The residents are glad to be here. People are moving here at a rapid rate. People are happy to spend extra on goods, and tip higher. However, this influx of money and residents is spurring crime on as well - the citizens are happy to ignore it, but violence and robberies are increasing...
(lasts until oct 29th)
Halloween! - Time to Trick or Treat! Decorations are up, as are candy prices and the number of kids running around unattended. What will you wear? Will anything spooky happen? Even more important, will everyone keep their children in line so no one gets kidnapped this year? (lasts until nov 1st)
