Aleksandra's grin grew slightly as the flicker of fear went through Cupcake's face. The grin stayed a moment, then faded. Her face grew solemn as she spoke, leaning back. Her demeanor changed into something almost sad. "The men raped and killed my sister. They forced me to watch." Aleksandra made her a new tonic. Setting it in front of Cupcake, Aleksandra spoke again, sounding tired. "If you've ever had a sister you were close to and loved dearly, I'm sure you can imagine the rage you'd feel if you saw that?"
She got another bottle of vodka and opened it, taking a deep drink from it. When she set the bottle down, she sighed, then looked back up to Cupcake, neither happy nor sad. "So, then. Cupcake. Why are you in here tonight?"

Cupcake looked away, biting her lip. Elise, she thought. The possibility of that was far too real for her - except she wouldn't be there to see. In this world, a dead Elise would disappear into the streets as if she never existed. Maybe she'd learn her fate from Nathan or another member, if any of them had chance to learn of the tragedy - if not, what happened would remain a mystery... "I would have done the same," she replied, looking at the floor.
Cupcake leaned on the bar, staring at her drink as if it held some sort of answer. "It's been a long day. I figured some vodka would fix things a bit." she said. "And it felt like a bad idea to do this at home." Honestly, she was starting to feel pretty wobbly. Drinking any more would be a bad idea if she wanted to get home.

[[ For the sake of not wanting to murder myself over BBC tags, I'm going to use ellipses for pauses in speech. I know this is not how they are generally used, but I don't want to have to keep typing my color hex all the frickin' time. ]] Aleksandra paid attention to the girl's reaction, nodding slightly. She has a sister, according to the reaction. Something in her softened as she watched the girl's reaction. For some odd reason, the girl made her think of her sister that was so brutally murdered all that time ago. Aleksandra grew softer, fingering the bottle of vodka thoughtfully as she listened to Cupcake. "Drinking does not really solve anything. Only puts off the issue until later." She drank from the bottle thoughtfully, then spoke quietly. "Sometimes days are long. It is perhaps better you decided to drink here. A good drink is useless without someone to talk to. If you do not mind my asking, how do you plan to get home? Drinking does not look to be your strongest point." A small smile was on Aleksandra's face as she watched Cupcake.

[Quite understandable.]
Cupcake took another swallow, if only to be stubborn. "I suppose Elise would have been there, if I went home..." she said, mostly for her own benefit. Not that she'd be happy to have me around. She never is. Especially on nights like these, when she was busy doing god knows what - pretending to be a hardcore little gangster, she supposed.
Sinking back on to the counter, she considered the question. "Iunno. I suppose I'll walk. I should be able to handle myself, as long as I don't drink too much more." Cupcake responded, looking up at Alek with a relatively blank expression.

Aleksandra smiled a little when Cupcake took another drink of the diluted alcohol. Cupcake, for whatever reason, reached to her heart. Aleksandra had grown relaxed since they had started talking and found herself smiling more easily around Cupcake. Her smile faded a little at the blank expression that Cupcake had when she looked back up. "Well, Cupcake. If you find yourself unable to handle yourself, I would not mind walking you home. I have a few places to be tonight and all the time in the world to get there." Of course, if you are too drunk, I'll be taking you to my place instead, she thought to herself.
Finishing off her second bottle of vodka, Aleksandra set the bottle next to her and looked to Cupcake with a very slight smile. "Tell you what, Cupcake. Since it has been a long day and it does not look like it will get all that much shorter, I will pay for everything you order. Tonight, at least." Aleksandra opened a third bottle of vodka, waving off the complaints of the other bartender when he saw her. She took a drink from it, swearing to herself this would be her last bottle, if she even allowed herself to finish the bottle.

The mood change left Cupcake somewhat confused. She was used to having people offer to walk her home and pay for her drinks -- but that was in hopes of intercourse. Such was not the situation tonight, and it left her out of her element.
"Thank you." She said, smiling and drinking more. She was on the cusp of intoxication, but wasting alcohol was total sacriledge. "Hopefully I'll be to get myself home, though. Wouldn't want to waste your time."
Unusually, she actually felt the need to do something in return - maybe because she wasn't used to someone actually doing something nice for her without an ulterior motive? It seemed too... weird to bring it up like that, so she tried to change the subject and maybe sneak up to it. "You're pretty good at it yourself, the drinking thing. That's your... third?" She wasn't in 100% percent control of her mental facilities. "Bottle. Of straight vodka. That takes.... skill."

Aleksandra smiled slightly at the confusion with Cupcake. She took a drink of the vodka, the buzz in her head growing stronger. Alek knew that if she continued at the rate she was going, she would end up rather drunk. She needed to get home before she was too tanked. Alek glanced at her watch, noticing her shift was almost over anyway. She would finish the bottle, then head out. She grinned at the mention of her drinking skill, speaking slightly slurred. "Oh, this? I have been drinking since I was little. I have a good tolerance." She giggled a little, taking a good drink out of the bottle. Glancing at how much was left, she drank the rest, tilting her head back. She grabbed the other two empty bottles and tossed them away, then motioned to the other bar tender she was headed out for the evening. He motioned back nonchalantly and went back to his work.
She came out from behind the bar and grinned, her hands jammed into her pockets. She motioned to the door with her head. "Come. My shift is over. I can make more at home, though. No rush to go anywhere, right?" She waited for Cupcake's response with a big smile, looking happier than she had in years.

Cupcake finished her drink as well, not wanting to be left too far behind. Her tolerance was nowhere near Aleksandra's, something she took into account as she carefully got off the stool to avoid falling like an idiot. She still managed to stumble slightly, but caught herself on the counter quickly, blaming the entire incident on her heels.
"Alright," she said, smiling back. For some reason, going home with a self-confessed murderer gave her no pause - and it wasn't even the vodka speaking.

Aleksandra almost giggled a little when she saw Cupcake stumble off of the stool. She nodded cheerily when the incident was blamed on her heels. "Of course it was, of course it was!" She cheerily started walking towards the door to exit the bar, keeping an eye on Cupcake. If she proved to be too unsteady in her heels, Alek would put an arm around her and help her walk.
The walk was not too terribly far. They went into the Tennant Rooming building and quickly found Aleksandra's room. She unlocked the door and let Cupcake and herself in, closing the door for what would turn into a very fun and drunken night.
