history:
Born the son of the Red Pole (General/Enforcer) of a criminal Chinese Triad organization, Ye lived a turbulent and often disturbing life for his first several years. His mother tried to be a good and loving parent, but had no power over her husband -- she was more concubine than wife to the cold man. His father mostly saw him as a dissapointment, a nuisance, the son of his useless mother. As a result, Ye came to be excessively attached to his mother, at points barely even able to separate his own identity from hers as he grew out his hair and copied her every movement. Furthermore, Ye's younger brother, Shihong, was failing to outgrow his childish cruelty. Their mother sensed that the criminal environment was destroying her children, and resolved to get the three of them to a better place as soon as she could. She made a deal with two men: kill her husband and in return, she would give them a large portion of the money she recieved for his death. The collateral? Her two sons. The mission was a success. Except, of course, that the Triads somehow found out who the murderers were and promptly executed them. Not long after Ye's eleventh birthday, his mother fled with her children to a happier life. However, something had happened to Ye during the time he was with those two men that he still holds deep in his subconcious...
The two brothers grew up as citizens of Plethora City. Ye quickly showed a passion for learning, and despite language difficulties, he soon rose to the top of his class through intense study. Every good grade made his mother proud, made her praise him, which made him work all the harder. After graduating high school a year early, he entered a prestigious university on a scholarship, according to his mother's wishes for his success. Unfortunately, just a few weeks into his sophomore year, his mother's health began deteriorating. Fast. He was in no situation to care for her, so he made up his mind to transfer to nearby Earl University. But by the time he was settled in, it was already too late. His mother's death shattered him, and he has yet to pick up all the pieces.
