Hi guys. Nice to see you all here. I would like to open up discussion for the new and improved Young Blood plot.
I don't know about all of you, but I would like to keep this rp grounded in realism.
I feel that several points should be addressed first:
1. a timeframe (e.g. past, present, near future, far future) 2. a cursory knowledge of the way gangs (if we're going to keep with that theme) work 3. balanced characters that work in a world grounded in realism 3a. which requires stricter character creation

Clarification on the word realism? I really like deconstructing seemingly exaggerated aspects to look at realistic consequences, so I ask to be sure. B]
As for everything else. (Take my opinions here as a member not an admin! I am going to go with the flow here with what y'all want.)
I think modern times are the easiest for most people, especially if you want to go with realism - getting facts together on past times can be very hard (even with good resources), and future ones are even harder because of the necessity of having to make up all these details. I am not opposed to either, but it does take more work. Gangs is possibly not what we're doing! But it possibly is. If we do go into that more we probs do need way more information. I'll admit I for one had no fucking clue what I was doing with the Azulus. (Yet again, neither did Elise. That's my excuse.) And for the third, my question goes up above. Especially since I like creating out there characters and then having reality beat them to a bloody pulp.

Well, I still have the intent of at least some gang activity, so there's that. What we could do is build an informational section for reference, to keep some consistency in the mechanics of such things. As for realism in general, I sort of see what you mean, but would also like some clarification. More realistic characters, plots? What in particular is bothering you? I know for me, things can get pretty crazy so I feel like I have to make more dramatic characters just to keep up. That's kind of been bothering me, to be perfectly honest.

I secretly enjoyed the gangs running rampant, but I feel like we need to have a plot line or two to balance it out.
As for the realism, I'm not sure if this is an attempt to get rid of god modders or to try to eliminate extreme characters (which would make me sad because I like the extremes of things). I'd also like to hear your propositions because I like having the extremists as characters to spice things up. I also like to have them because it's easier to make conflicts with them and create some interesting relationships.

I mean a problem I had with the last one is that the characters were caricatures almost, and everything got so over the top that it started reading like a Batman book than anything else. But a Batman level of crime can work too, we just have to take it to even more extremes.
I think the first thing we need to make canon is a world and a history of that world. Which will be hard, but I think it will make it more profitable (at least for me).

God modding is always an issue. Extreme characters are fine, but I still feel it has to have a basis in reality (take Christopher Nolan's Batman movies for example).

Plot stuff proposed so far: Gang stuff caused by the Police cracking down on gangs, leading to Azulus becoming spies of sorts. This is a mess, naturally. RMG has internal issues because Shihong. Also Ye dies.

Also, icing. Plenty and plenty of icing.

This isn't plot as much as general discussion. We do need to create a small section with things like how the gangs are structured and their general role in Plethora, and I think we should try to construct a basic web of relationships in Plethora so that we all know how everyone relates. Who's friends, enemies, frenemies. Who uses each other and who live in a mutual relationship.
Like Alois and Ian. Alois keeps Ian out of jail (when he does happen to be captured) and provides some supplies for his explosives, Ian has a tendency to listen whenever Alois wants something blown up to make a statement.
I just think it'd be something to help us figure out how everyone is related to each other and how characters react with each other. I also think it'd help us be able to better create plots and whatnot if we know who will and will not tolerate so and so, etc.

I only make characters if I've fallen on love with them, so I'm keeping all of mine. I'll be fine with about any plot though. I like my characters to have one strength and two crippling weaknesses to keep them balanced. I also don't know who anyone is anymore. Sadface. Who wants to PM me their identity?
